A directory worth being listed in
ToolVerified is a launch directory for tools, apps and products of every kind. Makers submit a URL, we draft the listing from what is actually on the page, and the maker edits it into something accurate before anyone else sees it.
How a listing gets published
There is one route in, and it is free. You submit, we read it, and a person decides whether it belongs here.
Every listing is reviewed before it publishes. Nothing goes live automatically. We look at the site, check the description is about that product and no other, and publish it or tell you why not. You get an email either way.
The badge is optional. Add it to your site if you want to show where you launched and send some traffic back. It is not a requirement, it does not speed anything up, and taking it down later does not affect your listing.
Approval cannot be bought. A paid package moves a submission up the review queue, and that is all it does before approval. The same person applies the same standard, and nothing is charged until after a listing is live.
Why the descriptions matter
Every listing carries an original description of between 350 and 2000 characters, written about that product and no other. Directories that recycle the same boilerplate across thousands of pages get dropped from search results, and the makers listed on them get nothing. We would rather write fewer listings properly.
Our draft is a starting point. Nothing is published until the maker has read it and made it true.
About the links
A published listing links out to the product it describes. Free listings link nofollow. Premium and Featured listings link dofollow, permanently, and carry a Premium tag so a reader can tell. Either way the listing itself is the same: reviewed by a person, written about that product, and published only if we would stand behind it.
Visibility can be bought; nothing else can
The two paid packages buy visibility once you are in: a labelled run in the homepage Featured row, a pin at the top of your category, the followed link, the tag and analytics. Featured rows are always marked as sponsored, and the recent-launches board and the leaderboard are never for sale. Every page you can see, a crawler can see: it is all rendered on the server, in the first response.
